All of the staff, from the receptionist on up, was extremely professional and friendly and the salon itself is a beautiful space. Asad was just amazing. I think he spent at least 20 minutes talking to me first, looking over my hair, discussing my hair history and its current condition (this was my first haircut since losing my hair to chemo). He then thoroughly explained what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. And then proceeded to give me the best haircut of my life. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

This is my first review, but I feel compelled to share my enthusiasm about this salon. When I first passed by Music to My Hair & Advanced Academy, I was a little confused. Is this a salon? A school? An art gallery? A performance space? Turns out it’s all of the above. After patronizing a different salon for quite a few years, I knew it was time for a change. I was intrigued with the concept of this salon and made an appointment with Asad, the owner. There are many attractive “upscale” salons in the region, but none with the artistic touches or the inviting ambiance as Music to My Hair. The space itself is a large, open, loft-like space with styling stations on one side of the room, a long counter with seating on the other side, a stage in the back for performances, a wall area displaying art by local artists, and a retail area. From the moment I entered, I was treated with graciousness. Michelle offered water, hung up my sweater, and seated me at a styling station where there was a personalized welcome message on the mirror. Asad is a miracle worker. He spends time analyzing your hair, discussing likes and dislikes, and then recommends a strategy for achieving your goal. Every step of the way is perfection – the care with which color is applied, the shampoo and gentle head massage, the mastery of his cuts with undivided attention paid to every snip. Unlike other salons I’ve patronized, no chit-chatting with neighbors, staring into space or looking bored. I’ve been thrilled with the three cuts and color retouches I’ve had so far. And just so you know, I’m a young-hearted older woman (70+) and recommend this salon to people of all ages. Did I mention the fabulous music playlist? Or the hanging light fixture composed of drums? Go there. You won’t be disappointed.

This place blew me away. I came in with a cut that had been, in a word, butchered at a previous salon. Asad was simply amazing. He worked wonders, fixing the layers and holes and somehow making it look longer by the end of it!! He spent a good 1.5 hours perfecting my hair and I appreciated every second. He is brilliant!! I cannot say enough good things about this place and its staff - so welcoming and kind and truly masterful at what they are doing! I'm going back in 9 weeks to get my first regular cut from them and I really can't wait :)

I walked into Music to My Hair for a wash & blowout and left with the best haircut of my life thanks to Asad, the owner. "You need bangs," he said. I was skeptical but he was persistent and I walked out of the salon transformed and grateful. He has had my complete trust for two years now, and I am especially happy with my highlights. The salon is a sanctuary as well as a stunning art gallery and on occasion an intimate music venue. Asad -- Renaissance man!

My old hair stylist moved on so I was looking for a new one. I patronize other business in the same shopping center as Music To My Hair, so I decided to give them a call and see if they had an opening that same day. I was lucky they did, and with the owner of the place to boot. When I checked them out online I was a little skeptical of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, but after my experience I totally get it and agree.

I've been bringing my son to see Jessica at Music to my Hair for a few years now and she never disappoints. The people there are attentive to your wishes while offering their own artistic flair. It's well-run, clean, and fun, open atmosphere. Highly recommended.
