After bringing our first animal to Capitaland they were very nice and professional. They handled a very tough experience for us in a way that made us comfortable. Recently we emailed them with a non-emergency medical situation and after 4 days I haven't received an email back nor a phone call. Now a non-emergency has escalated and I will have two pets hospitalized as we hope that they recover. Not a happy camper. After several calls from me to them the response is rather than refer a vet that specializes in our pet needs they will gladly charge us for a "preliminary examination" so that they can refer us to another vet. No thank you. I will continue to search for another vet and will no longer be able to share the positive experience from years ago as a reference point to recommend capitaland. A shame that a simple phone call could have prevented this review.
We adopted our Saint Bernard from a shelter in 2012. She was estimated to be nine years old, and had numerous health issues. The doctors helped us successfully address the health problems she came to us with, including skin infections, joint issues and difficult behaviors. She became a healthy senior dog, thanks to the doctors. Capitaland treated her expertly and guided us so she could live happily and comfortably with us until 2016. When it came time to say goodbye, Dr. Karzenski and the staff were there for us with great compassion and kindness.
I highly recommend this veterinary practice to anyone looking for a veterinarian in the Capital District. If we adopt a new four-legged friend, we'll definitely take him or her to Capitaland for care.
My wife and I found this vet after our sick dog went untreated several months at our old vet in Lansingburgh. In the first visit they diagnosed the problem and unfortunately it was too late to save her. I have taken all my dogs to this vet ever since. The only reason I give them four, not five stars, is because of the prices. The prices are on the high side, but if you want the best care for your pets, be they sick or in great health, this is a great vet to go to.
We have been taking our dogs to Capitaland Animal Hospital for more than twenty years and our experiences there have all been positive. We have had five dogs now who we have entrusted to their care and, from puppyhood until the day arrived when they left us, they have handled every situation with great care and sensitivity. We have come to regard the staff as dear friends, and we can recommend them without reservation.
Capitaland Animal Hospital has taken excellent care of our pets for over 20 years. Dr. Karzenski and Dr. Zaber and the whole team there are knowledgeable, patient and caring.
